Nicholas Constable has undertaken work for us on two occasions. This involved extensive repair to a sandstone gable end of on an old property that had previously been renovated using inappropriate materials. He was meticulous in the preparation and finally the repointing of the wall using lime mortar.
On the second occasion he repointed the front of a sandstone cottage, again using lime mortar using his skill and expertise.
It was very clear that on both occasions he took great pride in his work ensuring that all issues were dealt with professionally and promptly. From talking to him during the above works it was clear that he specialised in traditional stonemasonry methods.
If any further work is necessary at any time I would with our hesitation be using his services again.

We met Nick a year ago as a stonemason subcontractor on our rural self build. Nick meticulously built our front porch walls, entrance steps, pathways and patios. It was without hesitation what we approached him directly to build the boundary wall at the front of our house. Nick presented various ideas to us and we chose the dry stone wall option from reclaimed Perthshire stone. The result is outstanding and has been complimented by neighbours and local villagers. Most recently he assisted us with landscaping options for our garden. Nick’s knowledge, attention to detail and communication in everything he does is exceptional. We know that he will be our ‘go to’ person for all our specialist stonework and landscaping needs in the months ahead. We have no hesitation in recommending Nick!
